Compass School -- 2 Hr DELAY Thursday 1/25

WNESU has announced a 2-hour delay for all schools today, Thursday 1/25.

With apologies for the late notice, we are following the lead of the district on this due to icy roads. Our school day at Compass will run from 10:25-3:15.

Kendra is currently en route to school. Please use extra caution on the roads this morning.

Early Dismissal Option for Tues., Jan. 16 Due to Weather

WNESU has announced an early dismissal at 12:30 today, and the neighboring school districts are closing early as well.  Parents that decide to do so may pick up your child early today.  Please make this decision based on what is best for your schedule and well-being.

We will be putting the students who ride the Moover on the 2:15 PM bus.

I will stay until the very last student is picked up.  So, please be safe and go slow.

Feel free to text me at this phone number 603-499-9298 (Compass's mobile phone number) -- expect additional communication to come from this number as well.

Thanks,

Kendra

Save the Date: Meet Your Legislators

Meet Your Legislators on Saturday Jan. 20, at 10:30 a.m.

Come to the top floor meeting room of the Rockingham Free Public Library in Bellows Falls to chat with your Windham County Senators Nader Hashim and Wendy Harrison and your Windham-3 (Brookline, Rockingham and Westminster) House Representatives Michelle Bos-Lun, and Leslie Goldman.

This session will provide an opportunity for community members to ask questions about issues that will be addressed in this Legislative session in Montpelier. Legislators will also give updates about expected Legislative priorities and pending bills.

December 20 is Giving Day at Compass

December 20 each year is our annual Giving Day at the Compass School, a day when each student and staff member will present handmade gifts to the person in the community that they drew from a hat last month.

This is a cherished school tradition and generally a really wonderful day to end school before the holiday break.

As part of the Giving Day festivities, we will end school at 2:15pm, to allow students taking the Moover to ride the earlier bus. For students getting picked up, the school will be open with staff present until the usual 3:15pm dismissal time, but families have the option of picking up as early as 2:15.

We hope this change helps send everyone off to vacation in high spirits. Please contact me or Kendra with any questions.

Thank you,

Gabe

Update on today's weather & current road conditions

Due to the road conditions this rain is creating, I am writing to communicate that all students who ride the Moover will be put on the 2:15 pm bus.

For those who don't ride the bus, please feel welcome to pick up your children anytime -- at 3:15 pm the latest.  Ron Bos-Lun, who lives near Compass, will stay until all are picked up.

As of right now, we are planning to continue as scheduled with the Presentations of Learning on Tue, Dec 19.  Always, please be safe and decide if you wish to commute based on what is most considerate of your family's well-being.

Be well,

Kendra
