Portfolio Requirements
Photo Collection
A collection of your photographs that demonstrates your understanding of technique and composition.
Your collection should contain the following examples:
Subject
o 2 photos demonstrating your understanding of how subject choice affects the impact of a photo.
Light
o 2 photos demonstrating your understanding how light impacts a photo.
Creative Decisions
o 2 photos demonstrating your understanding of shutter speed, one at a slow shutter speed, one at a fast shutter speed.
o 2 photos demonstrating your understanding of aperture and the effect it has on depth of field, one at a large aperture, one at a small aperture.
o 1 photo demonstrating your understanding how ISO affects what aperture and shutter speed you can use.
o 1 photo that demonstrates the impact of filling the frame
o 1 photo that demonstrates the rule of thirds
o 1 photo that demonstrates the effect background has on a photo
o 1 photo that shows a creative use of camera position
This should be presented as a Lightroom Slideshow and exported and submitted as a Lightroom catalog.
Lightroom Slideshow
You should have a slide for each photo. How you layout the slide is up to you, but it should be submitted as a PDF and all of the photos exported as a Lightroom catalog Each slide should include the following information:
o Title
o Technique or composition element you are demonstrating (this could be in the title, too)
o Aperture, shutter speed and ISO setting
o Brief description of the picture (e.g. what you like about it, what you were trying show, etc.)
Mounted Prints
Three of your best pieces of work mounted on mat board and displayed publicly.

o 2 5x7
