Ron's Advisory

I am very pleased to be a ninth grade Advisor again.  Elizabeth, our other ninth grade Advisor, and I will host a potluck and business meeting for our Advisees and their families at Compass on Tuesday, September 23.  I hope to be in the Big Room by 5:30 playing guitar or mandolin (I welcome any accompaniment); we will gather at 6 PM for our meal together.  After eating, parents and Advisors will discuss how things are going for the ninth graders.  Typically, I want to get parent perspectives on homework and their children's social experience at the fall potluck gathering, though I certainly want to discuss whatever else is on parents' minds.  Students and their siblings usually play or visit together instead of joining us for our business meeting, which lasts until 8:00. 

One of the joys of being a teacher is getting to know not only students, but also their families.  I apologize for having needed to leave early on our Work Day, on which I got to speak with several parents for varying lengths of time.  I very much look forward to getting to know you all better. 

Of course, I hope that parents feel free to contact me before our gathering on September 23 for any reason.
