Summer Reading List (PDF, requires Adobe Acrobat Reader)
We have attempted to offer a wide range of titles which would appeal to students’ interests and reading levels. Although all titles included are appropriate for middle to high school students, some books are more mature and offer a greater level of reading difficulty. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to make appropriate independent reading choices.
We have arranged the list according to category or genre, alphabetically by author within each category. We have also included a short annotation for most titles.
Please note this is a suggested reading list, neither a comprehensive nor compulsory one. Other titles by the various authors listed, as well as other titles not on the list, may certainly be selected for students’ reading pleasure!
We hope that this list of recommended books encourages everyone to read during the summer vacation. Students are strongly encouraged to read at least three books. Students who write a short review of each book will be entered into a raffle to win some interesting donated prizes. We hope parents will support and encourage this program. Some of the authors and titles on this list may be familiar to you, while others may open new worlds and ideas.
