Five Compass Students Attend the 2009 Vermont Girls Conference

Five Compass teens attended a 1-day violence against women conference in Essex Junction, Vermont.  They had the opportunity to focus their awareness on sexual violence and its prevention in order to empower themselves with the necessary resources to make healthy decisions about relaitonships and personal safety.

The conference was hosted by White Tiger and included musical persformances by female artists as well as presentations from fronline professionals, safety experts, victim rights advocates and law enforcement personnelle.  They addressed issues such as abusive relationships, stalking and harrassment, date rape, party safety, drug rape and women's self-defense.

It was a profound experience.
