Rube Goldberg and other Middle School Photos
The RUBE Goldberg DESIGN Challenge!
Your Challenge:
Build a machine that contains at least 3 different simple machines types and at least 8 machines all together, 1 interesting sound or creative visual, and fits on the given platform and will complete a task using the materials provided.
The Details:
Each pair will design their own Rube Goldberg machine. However, each machine will need to start another student's machine. At the end, we will link up everyone's machine into one large whole class Rube Goldberg machine!!! Awards will be given for creativity, decoration, design, number of steps, if it works, and so on (we will discuss this in class).
Process:
The design process is a great skill to learn! It requires problem solving, creative thinking, collaboration and working with tools. For our own purpose we will go through these steps:
1. Design Approval
2. Rough Design 1
3. Rough Design 2
4. Final Approved by Andy and Matt
5. Build
6. * If changes are needed it will come at a cost (will be explained later)
