Day 1

Louise here- Hopefully I can get some kids to add here but they are upstairs eating breakfast (fresh fruite cereal and fresh OJ). The van ride here was amazing we all leaned out the windows hoping to take in as much of the view as we could. The driver had loud Dominican music playing and we tried to translate. Phil and Patrick tried to get as many people as they could to wave. When we arived at our ocean view hotel- we all instantly headed for the beach. Jake and Rick played volley ball with some locals, Jill, Sophie, Kailey and I went tide pool exploring and found some great critters. I am so excited I brought my ID book. Last night Starcie won a game of Apples to Apples that Rachel brought and it was a ton of fun. This morning off the balcony Olivia spotted a ray and we watched it glide off. Beautiful. Tricia our connection here is wonderful- she and Rick have been enchanging stories and I feel like a puppy trying to run after them to hear. Both have loads of experience. In short we are all great. Hot and tired but safe and excited. For lunch we drive up to our home stays and may not be able to reach you for a few days. But believe we miss you and are okay...

hurray

Hurray!  So happy to hear that all is going smoothly and you guys are enjoying the warmth, water, and music.  I savored this message--as I'm home and missing Sophie.  We have a snowday tomorrow.

Hope to hear from you soon--or at least as soon as possible, given that you're going to be at homestays.  Thinking of you all.  The school definitely (ask Jill if I spelled this right!) feels the loss of the juniors.  louise--Bethany said the kids miss you a lot--she really notices it, and someone (maybe Brendan?) keeps mentioning you, whether chiming in things like "That's Louise's favorite football player" or just acting a little off b/c he doesn't have you there.  But all is just fine in the MS (don't worry).

Love you all.

Julia
