day 5

Today was our busiest day so far. We began by waking up early to head back to the Cape Fear River Watch (where we went yesterday) for a pancake breakfast and a seminar on climate change and rising sea levels. After, we also visited Greenfield Lake to board PADDLE BOATS for our birdwatching trip. We observed a variety of species of birds. After eating lunch at the river, we drove to the  North Carolina Beach State Park, where we met Carla Edwards who taught us about carnivorous plants. Followed by a tour of the wilderness, we collected leftover glass (from a previous dumpsite) with her. Once we returned back to town, we stopped at Flaming Amy's for nachos and salsa. It was both tiring and really fun. We give thanks to all the presenters, Kemp Burdette, Carla Edwards, and Captain Joe.
