Your 10th Grade Roundtables are nearly happening. Here are some great Tips
Just wanted to put out there a few suggestions I have after sitting through so many inspiring senior round tables.
Some of y’all have already done this but I just wanted to put it out there anyway…
1. Be personal. It’s YOUR roundtable. Many of what I’ve read are good but they’re really technical… you can loosen up if you’d like! (I know that may seem funny coming from me!)
a. If you were to run into a teacher 10 years from now, what would you remember from his/her class? If you were to say something like, “Oh yeah, remember that time when…” It could be a field trip, a neat experiment that caused the whole room to fill with smoke, a simple comment on a paper… what has stuck with you these past two years?
b. Was there an assignment that really spoke to you? A book/story you couldn’t put down? An assignment that you really hated and one that made you really think about something differently? Do you see the world through a different lens after having taken a particular class? What moved you?
2. Be as organized as you can be… consider having…
a. a table of contents for your whole portfolio—one page that lists the indicator title, the cover letter, and the name of the pieces of work
b. either have all of your work neatly separated out by dividers in one binder, or in a folder/binder for each of the realms
c. make multiple packet/copies of each of the cover letters and your overall letter for EACH of the panel members to read while one of them is looking at the physical work…
d. make sure each work is labeled—write on the top of it the name of the realm (and if you want to get SUPER organized you could say something like, “Communication Realm piece 1 of 4,” or something like that…
e. make sure your cover letters are labeled
Don't forget the Writing Portfolio!

Here are Krisi's notes that she took when preparing for the Roundtables. She included KEY WORDS for each REALM and then wrote a series of questions she wanted to answer in each of her REALM ESSAYS. Hope this helps!
10th grade means time for Division II Exhibitions. This is a very exciting time. This exhibition will serve as a teaching and learning tool that will provide you with the opportunity to observe your growth, to evaluate your work and reflect upon your learning experiences for the Compass Learning Realms.
