New Teachers Real Stars for the School

We welcome back (thankfully never really gone from Compass) Alexandra Zuser, super math teacher, who will be teaching two math classes this coming year. Alexandra, a Marlboro College graduate with a degree in Physics, taught full time at Compass until having a wonderful child a couple years ago. Among other talents, Alexaxandra speaks Russian, is a computer whiz, and has wide ranging interests in music, literature and life and is luniverally loved and admired by students.

Schedule and Curriculum Changes to Increase Clarity, Consistency and Quality

Working with students, teachers, and parents the week after school ended, we made amazing progress in planning for the coming school year.

Alumni Updates

It was great to see so many Compass alumni at the school and around town in June. We older folks take great pride in seeing you all doing so well in so many ways. I know I will probably miss a bunch of alum I have seen, and get a lot of info wrong here and am missing much of the important information about each of you, but for some quick profiles of some I have been pleased to see lately, here goes. If you want more accurate and complete information, you should get on the Compass alumni facebook page and do whatever your generation does to share in this format:

Compass Founding Director Returns to the Helm

As Compass School enters its 12th year, Founding Director Dr. Rick Gordon returns to the leadership role. Gordon will succeed Nelson Richter who served as Executive Director this past year and is retiring due to health reasons.

Gordon’s arrival signals a recommitment to the school’s founding principles of rigorous learning, belief in the success of every child, active student involvement in the leadership of the school, and strong  learning connections with the community.
