8th Grade Immersion in the World Beyond our Walls

8th Grade Trip to Annapolis, MD and Washington, DC: 

Compass Spring Theater Thrives on New Format

     Like most schools, Compass has a history of the Spring play being a big, full length production that has all sorts of merits, but also many challenges. Over the years, the Compass Players has produced a series of fine Shakespeare productions, a comedy here or there, and a brilliant student written play about Tibetan Refugees based on interviews conducted on the first Compass international trip to India.

Senior Projects 2010

A sampling of Senior Projects at Compass going on during April and May. Students will be presenting to the public on this work on May 14th at Compass.

Sara Lepkoff:  Interning at The Commons, a local newspaper in Brattleboro; she is writing, editing for the paper as well as acting as editor of the Youth Section.

Kyle Takei: Trying out underwater photography in Costa Rica.

Kyle Tansley: Night-time photography in Vermont, Arizona, and NYC; his work will culminate in a solo exhibit at Insight Photography in June.

☼You will be expected to read on your own in the next month, even though we are not reading a book as a class.  You may choose what book(s) you read as long as you get your coach’s approval, and this means that we see it as an appropriate reading level for you.

 

Compass School Closed for Spring Break April 19-23

Compass School is currently closed for the week of April 19-23 for spring break; classes will resume on Monday, April 26

Open House-April 28, 7:00 p.m.

Compass School will host an Open House Wednesday, April 28, at 7:00.  Come visit and see what makes Compass School different in addressing the needs of students.  Tour the building, meet the staff and students, enjoy the art and the writings of the Compass Students.  Refreshments from Cher's kitchen will be served.

Compass School presents Julie Moir Messervy, award-winning landscape designer and author, lecture and book signing, April 13, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. in the Greenhoe Theater on the campus of Landmark College, Putney, Vermont.  She is an excellent speaker with many great ideas; will be an exciting evening.
